GRSites.COM Backgrounds	Rating:
GRSites contains over 4800 free textures and backgrounds for general use! The majority of textures are seamless, although there are some which do not tile perfectly or make text difficult to read in front of them. Also, there is usually one pop-up which appears per page. Backgrounds are arranged by color and type.

Background City	Rating:
This site currently has 12 categories of free backgrounds, each of which contains a collection of well-done textures. The categories range from Holidays, to space, clouds, bricks, etc. There are no pop-ups, and the site is very easy to navigate.

Backgrounds Giant	Rating:
Wow! This site has literally hundreds of pages of free textures. They aren't organized in any particular method, but on the initial page you can select what resolution you want the textures to be. Not all of the textures tile perfectly, and quite a few make text hard to read when in front, but there are MANY to choose from.

All Free Backgrounds	Rating:
On this site you can find a wide range of backgrounds organized by color and pattern. Click on any background texture to see a real-time preview of how it will look on a page. THer eare some ads but none that get in the way of the actual content. Not all of the textures listed tile seamlessly, but most do a pretty good job.

Animation Station	Rating:
Along with a large collection of free clipart and animations, there are three 'background' pages, each of which contains over 100 pages of free backgrounds! The backgrounds links are on the right-side of the initial page. No pop-ups, but lots of ads within the site.

fg-a.com	Rating:
A really clean site with no pop-ups or advertisements, but only has four pages of backgrounds. Each page does have quite a few textures, and most of them are fairly nice.

Julianne's Background Textures	Rating:
Very basic site that contains a large variety of backgrounds, arranged by color. Although it hasn't been updated for awhile, it still loads very fast and offers a lot of nice-looking textures.

Boogie Jack's Free Graphics	Rating:
A great site containing many pages of full-page backgrounds and left-border backgrounds. No pop-ups and just a few site-ads. Each background has its own page illustrating various colors of text and how they appear over that particular background.

AAA - Backgrounds	Rating:
Here you will find a fairly extensive collection of free backgrounds. They are categorized by type (Marble, Fabric, Etc.), and each page contains 6 textures. There are little, if any pop-ups but the site does have site-ads.

Susan's FREE Backgrounds & Wallpaper!	Rating:
This attractive site offers a fair range of background and border textures. Each background enables you to view a real-time preview with example text, and most (if not all) of the background textures are high-quality and original to the site. The site also offers tips for creating your own backgrounds. Pop-ups and attempts to install Spyware made me lower the score.

Absolutely Free Backgrounds	Rating:
This site has a fair collection of textures and backgrounds. I did not come across any pop-ups, but there are quite a few advertisements within the site. You are allowed to download most textures without sign-up by previewing the texture, then right-clicking on a blank area of the page and selecting 'Save Background As'.

FreeBackgrounds.COM	Rating:
Although the site's design is poor, there are oodles of free textures available from this site. On the initial page you can take a 'tour' and run through background after background to see how they look. Or, you can goto the index and there the tex0tures are organized by category. No pop-ups, site loads fast, but you may find it a challenge to locate a background you want.

Infinite Fish: Seamless Textures

Here's a clean site with approximately 200 different seamless textures for you to download and use. Unfortunately they aren't organized by any means, and most of them have a lot of contrast so it would be hard to read text over them. But still, the site has a lot of unique backgrounds that would be suitable for borders on your pages. You can also download all of the textures available with one click.

1001+ Free Background Textures	Rating:
As the name might imply, there are 1001+ background textures available at this site. They are only organized by 'tiled', 'horizontal', and 'vertical' sections. Each page displays approximately 18 of the textures. There are advertisements and one pop-up per page or so.

Backgrounds And Textures	Rating:
This site offers around 20 pages of background textures. Each of the textures seem to be a type of 'fractal' or such. There is no preview for the backgrounds other than the image itself, but you may be able to find a few textures you like.

Web Page Backgrounds	Rating:
No pop-ups, but there are a lot of ads and links to external sites on the page, so be careful what you click. The backgrounds are seperated by category, and each page has about six textures. Each texture has a nice previewer as well.

Free Web Page Backgrounds	Rating:
A clean site offering around 50 free textures. Although there are no ads or pop-ups, most of the backgrounds are of low resolution and make it very difficult to read text when applied. The backgrounds would be suitable for borders around a page, but I wouldn't recommend using most of them as actual backgrounds.

Virtually Ignorant	Rating:
Only a few backrounds are available from this site, but each has a preview so you know what it looks like behind text. The majority of backgrounds are bordered ones, but there are also standard textures as well.
